I squeezed both mattresses near the edge to see how much give each one had, and the Sealy Ortho Rest Mattress seemed considerably firmer for only $10 more. Also, the $39 Sealy seemed to have a thicker, more durable cover and the binding wasn't cracked or coming apart where it was sewn on like the cheaper Kolcraft mattress. So, we purchased the Sealy Ortho Rest Mattress. My husband remarked as he carried it to the car how much this seemed like a "real" mattress, it didn't seem much smaller than an average mattress that costs hundreds more.
Kolcraft crib mattresses offer today's parent some of the best values on firm yet comfortable baby mattresses that families have depended on for decades.
